The annual A-level Biology field trip expedition, which departed on Monday 5 June, has been a great success. Over the five days members of the public repeatedly complimented our students on their conduct and the maturity with which they articulated their work.
The students, accompanied by four members of staff, visited various sites within North Yorkshire and the North East Coast to complete the ecological techniques covered in their A-level specification. Each student planned and carried out their own individual investigation, prepared a written report and finished up with a presentation to the group.
Biology teacher and organiser of the field trip, Dr. Yates said, “Once again the students have been a credit to the school and their parents. A strong sense of community developed on the trip with students supporting each other through the activities, which this year included our first trip to the seashore for twenty years!”
