Throughout the past couple of weeks in science club, students have been tasked by Kirkley Hall Zoo to create an enrichment activity (designed to stimulate animals and keep them occupied in an enclosure but mimicking things they would do in the wild) for specific zoo animals.
These 3 students went above and beyond and in their own time, with the help of family, built the pictured enrichment activity for meerkats from scratch. Lily W, Matthew G and James R are all year 9 students. Sciene teacher Mr Pommells said “We will be visiting the zoo on Monday after Easter and so we will be seeing how the meerkats interact with it!”
