Students from across Year 7,8,9 and 10 enjoyed working with professionals from across the theatre industry to create a ” Play In A Day”. Students worked with professional theatre writers, actors and Olivier award winning theatre producer Jamie Eastlake.
Students enjoyed the creative process of creating their own play from a stimulus. All of the students in groups helped to write a script that outlined their ideas. The script was then rehearsed before being presented in a scratch performance in front of the experts. Students were also treated to a small performance that was performed by a professional actor and this allowed students to consider the use of narration within their performances. Drama teacher Mrs Lee said “All of the students thoroughly enjoyed the creative process and showed excellent performance skills.”
