Last week our students got the exciting opportunity to go to Northumbria NHS Careers Day. Their day involved a tour around the premises, and a chance to ask valuable questions to professionals in multiple fields of the NHS.
Also they got the opportunity to see a surgery simulation which many found extremely interesting. As well as this, there was the chance to see a keyhole surgery which is an operation performed in the abdomen or pelvis using small incisions, with the aid of a camera.
Overall the students got to see the day to day experience of working in the NHS and get a feel for if this field of work interests and engages them. Ben in year 12 commented on the day being ‘very informative and a brilliant experience.’
