On Thursday 23 March our Year 10 Textile GCSE students got the opportunity to visit Northumbria University and explore their Fashion Department.
The ‘Work In Progress’ event showed our students some of the work carried out by students at University. This included tips on how to build a strong portfolio, seeing behind the scenes of the fashion degree courses and speak with current students and lecturers about the courses. This gave pupils an insight into the process of designing, making and presenting work.
Mrs Bowring, Careers Coordinator at Ponteland High School said “The feedback from pupils was really encouraging and students found the experience very inspirational”.
